We inspire you

Or at least, we try to.

We write books on the future of work and leadership. Erik Korsvik Østergaard published “The Responsive Leader” in 2018, about the change in leadership due to the changes in the business world. The book was awarded bronze in the Independent Publisher Book Award for Business/Career/Sales. Then, he continued with “Teal Dots in an Orange World” in 2019, describing the modern, self-managed organizations based on Frederik Laloux’ cultural colors. The book was nominated by CMI, UK, as Management Book of the Year 2020 in the ‘Business and Leadership Transformed’-category.

We write articles and blogposts. Both for international media outlets like Thinkers50, CEO World, Global Peter Drucker Forum, Fair Observer, HRDirector, and Thrive, as well as Danish news media like Børsen. Moreover, you can find a ton of blog posts at our Bloch&Østergaard website, too.

We host podcasts. Both our own called “Fremtidens Ledelse To-Go” and other podcasts, like “Hvem bestemmer i morgen?” for Heartbeats.

We give key notes on the future of work, leadership, and organizational design. Typically we inspire with 40 key notes per year.

Our key notes are popular

43 key notes in 2020.

What’s next? What comes after Agile, self-leadership, and Teal? Signals from the future

It can no longer surprise anyone that the modern organization is undergoing a pervasive redesign. It is underway, and it only just started … but even before we are completely in place with it, new things are on the way. Specifically four areas in the future of work that are worth keeping an eye on and experimenting with: (1) Disruption in corporate, compliance-heavy companies. (2) Micro-communities in enterprises. (3) Self-management, even as a spiritual human being. (4) Software in leadership and management. This key note inspires you, and prepares you for shaping your own future.

The Future of Work and Leadership

The business world of tomorrow is radically different from today. Digitization, globalization and diversity in generations have huge impacts. On the way we interact with customers. On how we attract talent, lay out strategy, and are innovative. How we shape our culture, organize our teams, and also how we develop our leadership.

Teal Dots in an Orange World – how to organize the workplace of the future

The business world is changing. New kinds of organizations are emerging, and everybody is talking about or experimenting with sociocracy/holacracy, agile, lean startup, or teal. How do you create an organizational platform, so that new and modern organizational “dots” can emerge and live on this platform; dots, that are based on teal-like methodologies? And, what leadership is required?

Teal Dots in an Orange World – how to organize the workplace of the future

“Teal Dots in an Orange World” is Erik Korsvik Østergaard’s 2nd book, a follow-up to “The Responsive Leader”:

The content and message of the book reflects observation based on at least 15 years of working in corporate enterprises. Tactical and operational work gets done in small teams only, NOT in large operational structures. This observation is uncorrelated to the size and impact of the work: Success is not an attribute of corporate collaboration, but of small self-managed teams in a teams-of-teams structure. Hence teal dots in an orange world: Self-propelled teams in a universe of minimal corporate support.

The title refers to the work done by Frederic Laloux. In his book “Reinventing Organizations”, he describes five organizational stages (Red, Amber, Orange, Green, Teal): Orange being the classical corporate structure; teal being the modern team-oriented organism.

Where “The Responsive Leader” sets the scene, describing the paradigm shift towards the future organizations, “Teal Dots in an Orange World” addresses how to create that structure.
